Solar Wind
This advanced system can not be ordered directly from the website. Please call 770 639 2244 for ordering.
Solar Wind can provide up to 300 watts of modified sine wave, 120-volt AC power, up to 30 amps of 12-volt DC power, and is best suited to provide power for small and medium size electronic devices. The pair of 72-watt foldable solar panels (total 144 watts) allows one to harvest adequate solar energy throughout the day with a relatively small-footprint. The Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) solar charge controllers can harvest up to 30% more energy than non-MPPT controllers, making this system superior and powerful.
The mil spec hard case in black encloses the batteries, some of the electronics, and the extension cables. The pair of 72-watt foldable solar panels are carried separately. The carrying pack in brown encloses additional electronics.
Solar Wind includes: Battery – pair of 12.8-volt lithium iron phosphate batteries linked in parallel to provide 77 amp-hours of usable charge capacity and 967 watt-hours of usable energy; Solar Charge Controllers - pair of 10.5-amp/140-watt MPPT units, each of which is able to manage the power production of one or two 72-watt solar panels; Solar Array - pair of 72-watt, high-performance, amorphous silicon, foldable solar panels. The solar cells are A-grade amorphous silicon flexible solar cells from Uni-solar of USA. See https://www.powerenz.com/shop-all/Portable-Solar-Panel-72-Watt-p337682995. The water- and weather-proof, UV-resistant, fold-out solar panels come in black, and have the following electrical ratings at maximum power: 72 watts; 5 amps; 18 volts. The open-circuit voltage = 24 volts. In peak mid-day sunlight, it has been measured to produce up to 76.7 watts and 5.56 amps and demonstrates superior performance in high temperatures and shade. Its' average power output is 72 watts. Each panel weighs 6.4 pounds and measures 66.4 x 31.5 inches unfolded, and 15.4 x 11.4 x 2.4 inches folded. The power output cable ends in an SAE connector. In each corner of each panel, there is a metal ringlet that can be used to secure the panel to the ground or a support device; Inverter - continuous 300-watt, 12-volt DC - to - 120-volt AC/60 Hz modified sine wave unit that has a pair of AC outlets, an ON-OFF switch, a thermostatically-controlled cooling fan, and a battery low-voltage alarm and shutdown. The power output from the inverter is limited to 300 watts by a 25-amp circuit breaker; Hard case - Pelican 1510 case in black encloses the battery pack, the solar charge controllers, and the fused power distributor. The solar panels and the remainder of the electronics are carried separately. A pair of solar power input connectors are implanted in the walls of the case, and that allows the battery pack to be solar charged with the lid of the case closed. A 12-volt DC output connector is implanted in the wall of the hard case, and that allows the DC output adapter, inverter, and cigarette lighter socket adapter to be plugged in with the lid of the case closed.
All connectors and cables are included.
The hard case weighs 46 pounds. The complete system weighs 63 pounds.
Optional: a 20-amp AC-powered battery charger that operates on worldwide AC voltages may be added to the system. A 400-watt pure sine wave inverter may be substituted for the 300-watt modified sine wave inverter. Please call 770-639-2244 for prices.
