Lightweight portable solar power system

      The LFP40 Sling Pack is the most advanced portable solar power system available in the world today. 

     This silent, lightweight, portable solar power generator utilizes the finest technology obtainable.  Powerenz LFP40 takes advantage of Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery chemistry which is manufactured using no toxic ingredients, will not ignite or explode, weighs 40-50% less than lead acid batteries of comparable charge capacity, and that will provide up to 3000 charge/discharge cycles before it begins to lose its rated charge capacity.  If you discharge an AGM or Gel lead acid battery by 70% of its rated charge capacity every day, you will need to replace the battery every 250-300 days vs. every 3000 days when using the LFP battery in our system.  That’s a 1000% increase in the lifespan of the battery…not to mention that this occurs at half the weight!

     Powerenz LFP40 utilizes Maximum Power Point Technology (MPPT) solar charging which optimizes the electronic relationship between solar panel and battery.  This can accelerate the rate at which your battery can be solar-charged by up to 30% per day.  Our solar charging systems are configured specifically for our LFP series of portable solar power systems.

     This Portable Solar Power System can be carried during events where high power, high energy density and minimal weight are critical.  Powerenz LFP40 can provide power for a variety of portable electronic devices that require 12 volts DC up to 15 amps/180 watts, 120 volts AC up to 320 watts, and that can recharge itself in sunlight using the included solar panel.  This system is best suited to provide power for virtually all small to medium size portable electronic devices, such as cell and satellite phones, communication radios, laptop computers, small battery chargers, night vision systems, satellite repeaters, lighting fixtures, small power tools, televisions, GPS’s, flashlights, small refrigeration units, and more.

     The battery assembly, protective circuit boards, solar charge controller, power inverter, wiring, breakers, and accessories are housed inside a water resistant, tactical sling pack.  One 62-watt solar panel can be stored in the backpack pocket.  Additional panels may be carried separately.  12-volt DC power is accessible via a female cigarette lighter socket that is protected against over-current by a 15-amp circuit breaker.

       The Powerenz LFP40 Sling Pack includes:

         Battery - rechargeable, 12.8-volt, 40 amp-hour, LFP battery pack that stores 512 watt-hours of energy, and that will tolerate > 3000 discharge-charge cycles @ continuous 70% depth of discharge.  A protective circuitry board performs a balancing function on the individual cells of the battery.  The battery can be charged directly from the solar panel using the solar charge controller and custom connector cable, or from the included smart, 10-amp, 100-240VAC-powered charger that is configured for 12.8-volt LiFePO4 battery packs when the grid is available.  The AC recharging time is 4-4.5 hours from empty to full.         

      Solar panel – CE, FCC, and Std MIL 810F-certified, foldable 62-watt unit in black, green woodland camouflage, or tri-color desert camouflage that weighs 3.1 pounds, and that will require approximately 15-18 hours of peak sunlight to completely recharge the battery if it is depleted.  The system can handle up to five 62-watt panels to decrease the time that is required to solar recharge the battery.   Five 62-watt panels could recharge the battery from empty to full in 3 hours in peak sunlight.  The dimensions of the solar panel in inches are 52.5 x 30 when deployed, and 14.5 x 8.5 x 1.4 when folded.  The solar power input adapter is accessible from the interior of the backpack. 

     Solar Charge Controller – a sophisticated, custom programmed, 15-amp unit that uses MPPT to accelerate solar charging of the battery, and that has a digital LCD display of battery voltage, incoming solar amps, outgoing load amps, and detailed error messages.  The solar charge controller is protected against over-current by a 25-amp circuit breaker.  The solar charge controller has a baseline, continuous power consumption of 35 milliamps.  If the system is to be stored for a prolonged length of time, the circuit breaker should be removed from its holder which will remove power to the controller, and prevent complete drainage of the battery.

     Backpack – 1000-Denier water and abrasion resistant sling pack that includes: light-weight ballistic nylon fabric, Teflon® fabric protector for grime resistance and easy maintenance, high strength zippers and zipper tracks, UTX-Duraflex nylon buckles for low sound closures, triple polyurethane coated for water resistance, high tensile strength nylon webbing, high tensile strength composite nylon thread (stronger than ordinary industry standard nylon thread), #AS-100 high grade closed-cell foam padding material for superior shock protection,  taped and finished internal seams, Paracord zipper pulls, double stitched stress points, and Backtracked or "Box-and-X" stitches for added strength.

     Power Inverter: 320-watt continuous/640-watt surge/400-watt x 5 minutes, 12VDC to 120VAC, 90% efficient, modified sine wave unit that has 2 AC receptacles, and that is protected against over-current by a 40-amp MAXI fuse.

     Breakers/fuse: 40-amp fuse protects the output from the battery terminals and the inverter; 15A breaker protects the 12-volt cigarette lighter socket; 25-amp breaker protects the solar charge controller.  

 The weight of the system is 24 pounds!
